L’arancia è un agrume prodotto dall’omonima pianta (Citrus aurantium). Si presenta come un frutto dalla forma tonda, con buccia ruvida, che inizialmente presenta un colore verde per poi diventare gialla o arancione man mano che matura. È rivestita all’interno da una massa bianca spugnosa e amara, denominata albedo. La polpa è divisa in spicchi contenenti del succo che può assumere una colorazione che varia tra il giallo, l’arancione o il rosso.
