THE FRESH SHADE

The cool sensory nuance indicates the sensation we perceive when certain active ingredients manage to fool our nervous system, specifically the receptors designed to detect temperature drops called TRPM8. Some plants, such as mint or eucalyptus, possess active ingredients (in this case menthol and eucalyptol) that are able to interact with the TRPM8 receptor structure, thus triggering the cold response. This sensation facilitates salivation and creates a pleasant sensory balance.
