Il prezzemolo deve la sua origine etimologica al greco, in particolare ai termini petra e selinon. Significa infatti “sedano che cresce sulle pietre”, perché sembra che sia una pianta che cresce spontaneamente sulle rupi macedoni. È tra le erbe aromatiche più conosciute ed utilizzate in cucina.
